I want to share a really cool stone with you. It’s an Ametrine seer stone. Usually seer stones are naturally made by rivers flowing over quartz minerals and polishing them into a clear, almost crystal ball like stone.

However, humans make them, too and this one is human-polished, not river polished. This one was given to me as a gift and it was from a crate full of Amethyst seer stones. When you glance at it at first, it looks like an Amethyst, but when you look at it closely and in the light, you can see some golden streaks.

That gold is citrine–and Ametrine is a natural mix of Amethyst and Citrine minerals occuring together. Both are varieties of quartz and both colors are LSU colors (yeah, I’m an LSU fan and 2019 was our year!)

Spiritual folks use seer stones for scrying. I don’t scry–it’s not that I don’t believe in it as I have had some incidents where I’ve “seen” things and those things have happened, but it’s simply not for me.

I love mine simply because I appreciate the beauty of the crystal, especially as the light shines through it.

What Does Cleansing Your Space Mean?

Photo by Prashant Gupta on Unsplash

I’m not talking about sweeping the floor but about your personal space. The area around your body is your personal space. It’s also your auric field and whether or not you believe in energy healing or auras, one thing is true for everyone: sometimes people just get too close.

Have you ever gone to a party or some type of even and there was that one person who always leaned in too close? Their breath might have smelled off or something just felt off about them?

People leave energetic residue behind in your personal space all the time and sometimes that can buildup. Sometimes it gets to the point where you don’t want to be around a person or you feel like you never have time for yourself. Well, there is a cure for that and you probably already have some of these things in your home.

Things You Can Do To Clear Your Space Right Now.

1 Light a Candle. There is something soothing about a lit candle in a dark room. The glow casts shadows that seem inviting and it just relaxes you. Depending on the candle and your tastes when it comes to aromatherapy, the smell can either energize you, soothe you or even make you sleepy.

2 Burn Incense. I love the smell of incence whether it’s a stick or actual resin. You can actually take a charcoal and sprinkle a bit of sandlewood and lavender on it. The smoke clears the air making your space purified. Frankinsence is santifying while Palo Santo is uplifting.

3 Indulge with Essential Oils. Smell is how we ground ourselves and remind ourselves to remain present in this moment. Jewelry made with lava beads can have essential oils sprinkled on to the beads and the smell will last for days. You can also drop a few drops of your favorite oil in your bath water or diffuse it.

4 Sage. Yes, it may be considered incense but this is one of the oldest space clearing techniques that works today. I’ve had people tell me it smells like weed, and it does have that herbal smell to it, but it’s just a good smell especially if you have had several people over and want to reclaim your space again.

5 Play Music. Sound is one of the  best ways to clear out stale energy. I have a small singing bowl (I used ot have three large Quartz ones). There are many videos on YouTube that play soothing music with instruments such as the digeridoo, singing bowls and others that create that sense of sacredness.

Our space is sacred. When you honor your space, you honor yourself.

I have a small medicine bag that I take with me in my purse or in my pocket with a few things that make me feel grounded and secure in my own personal space.

A chakra balancing neckace (get one here)

2-3 crystals that ground protect, infuse love and cleanse:

  • Black tourmaling-protection and grounding. Clears out EMFs
  • Rose quartz-divine love
  • Selenite-can be used as a wand to direct energy, cleanse your aura and draw off attached entities.

I also have an essential oil roller bottle that I made myself. I bought the bottle filled with rose quartz chips from Bohemian Cove, a lovely little shop here in Baton Rouge and added a blend of frankinsense for clarity of the mind with jasmine and sandalwood–both resonate with the energies of love and protection. Another thing is an Orgonite obelisk that was given to me as a gift from a good friend.

Hi, I’m Johnna

I’m an artist from Shreveport, LA who learned the art of wire wrapping gems and minerals into jewelry from Grammy winning musician, Daryl Thompson, who became like a father to me.

He is the one who intrudoced me to the healing world of crystals and I have been learning every since.

This world is ancient but can be applied to modern day times.

My life is hectic–I work from home, am mothering a kitten who almost died, and am living the life of my dreams.

However, we always have to stay grounded and what keeps me grounded is working with the healing gifts of the mineral kingdom to create something.

Every single one of my jewelry designs has a person that is meant just for it.

Working With Hyalite

Hyalite opal is an unusual gem that is beautiful in its own way. Many contain trace amounts of uranium which enable the gem to glow under a UV light. I have a small piece in my own collection that I scored at a gem show in Atlanta back in 2019. Recently, I had a...

I have been wanting to review Maye Musk’s book, A Woman Makes A Plan for some time now. I actually planned to buy it but it came to me as a gift. This sat as a draft in my blog for a good minute. I think a part of the reason why was that I hope that I can write a...
